Ben was overjoyed when he saw that his horse was pregnant. He was so excited! It meant he was about to get another horse, one that could increase his financial wealth if it was a 'good' horse. He had been waiting for months if not years for this moment. His horse was about to give birth. Strangely, however, it refused to give birth even with a giant stomach. Ben decided to go to the vet to have an ultrasound. As soon as the vet saw the ultrasound, he called the police.

But what happened to the horse? Was it Ben's fault?

What happened?

After the vet called the police, she was told that they would come his way immediately. A veterinarian was not enough to help this horse. This was an emergency. There was obviously something wrong with this horse's stomach, and it needed surgery. The horse might have even been in danger of death....

As soon as the police arrived, they helped the vet sedate the almost lifeless giant horse. Nevertheless, the police came to Ben's aid as well as the vet. "Sir, we have to have you come with us because it is essential". This stunned Ben. What did he do wrong?

The questions

The questions Ben answered revolved around himself and the horse he owned since he was a child. As he finished answering all the questions, the surgery room erupted in disbelief. “I cannot believe this,” the veterinarian exclaimed.

What exactly did the vet find inside the horse that shocked him so much?

The horse Ben owns has been pregnant for almost a year now, and horses give birth after 11- 12 months. Ben wanted a second horse, and since he loved his horse, Felicia, so much, he tried to ensure Felicia would give birth to a new horse, but that wasn't easy.

How did the horse get pregnant?

In order to legally impregnate Ben's horse, he had to find a qualified practitioner. Over the next several months, he was unable to find anyone whom he could legally hire. Ben wondered whether he had to accept that what he desired was not possible, and that he should consider buying a horse instead.

It took Ben months to find the right person, but he finally found him. He was available on short notice, so he stood in front of Ben's house and made sure Felicia got pregnant within days. Ben was excited and could not wait for Felicia to give birth.

Finally pregnant

Despite the long and slow process, Ben was able to get what he wanted in the end. Ben called the vet after a week or so to have the first ultrasound to determine whether Felicia was pregnant. Following the ultrasound, the vet revealed Felicia was pregnant...

Both the horse and its child seemed to be doing well after being examined by the veterinarian. However, later in the pregnancy things did not go smoothly.

Initially, Felicia wasn't able to sleep as much as she did before she became pregnant, but on top of that, Ben wasn't able to walk with her anymore in her stables, which was something she enjoyed doing before. Ben could not understand why this was the case.

The preparations

Ben had prepared everything for Felicia's delivery to ensure that everything would go smoothly, but she refused to give birth. Ben had no choice but to call the vet, but he had to answer questions he didn't expect.

Ben asked the vet how Felicia behaved. Then she became restless, but now she barely moves at all. As a result of Ben's answers, the vet explained that Felicia needed to be laid out correctly on the ground.

Ben was told that Felicia had to be stretched fully, as it might be time for her to give birth to a foal. However, stretching Felicia was quite difficult due to her aggressive nature.

An aggressive horse?

Ben was afraid of being attacked by his own horse. He hesitated, was this a good idea? Was there a possibility of her pursuing Ben? Ben and his horse could not make it out of that situation unscathed. Did they have any other option?

Ben's vet told him that this was the only way to ensure the survival of both his horse and her foal. When Ben heard that, he made sure he approached Felicia calmly in order to not agitate her. To make sure Felicia's experience was painless, he positioned himself in the right way when he was close.

What was wrong?

The vet asked Ben to feel Felicia's stomach after he successfully stretched her out. Perhaps there was a little bulge during the pregnancy that he had not noticed? As Ben examined the area, he was shocked at what he saw.

The bulge was something he had never noticed before. But what did it mean? Was his horse alright? Ben immediately asked the vet if Felicia was alright. But the vet's response was not comforting.

The vet's tone changed and all that he said was: "I have to do an ultrasound, I'll be there right away." The vet told Ben to calm down. He would be there in thirty minutes. However, the vet did not anticipate some complications.

The first challenge

Getting to Ben's location was a challenge in itself. Because the vet didn't realize it was rush hour, she got stuck in traffic for much longer than she had expected. To have the best chance of Felicia giving birth to her foal, the vet knew she had to get to the horse as quickly as possible.

The more Ben stressed, the more he suggested that one of his friends pick up the vet on a motorcycle. This would allow her to arrive as quickly as possible. She returned to her clinic, where she waited for one of Ben's closest friends to pick her up.

Arriving at the ranch

They arrived at Ben's ranch within minutes of picking up the vet from her clinic. Felicia was not moving at all, so the veterinarian immediately examined her. As soon as the veterinarian approached her, she suddenly began moving.

Felicia now needed to be sedated, in order to make sure she was not a danger to the vet or Ben. Unfortunately, sedated horses are very difficult to handle. The veterinarian needed every bit of help she could get.

In hopes that Felicia would calm down, Ben and his friend kept their distance from Felicia as she became more aggressive. However, she did not calm down. How can she resolve this situation? The vet only had one choice.

Taking the risk?

Veterinarians could use heavier medicines from a distance, but that wasn't without risks. It was possible that Felicia and her foal would not survive. Ben was asked what he wanted. There were two options. It was so hard to choose.

Ben realized that making the wrong choice could be very detrimental. But what exactly was the wrong choice? The vet explained the risks associated with both options to him after he thoroughly considered both. He decided with his heart instead of his head after a long process.

Fecilia needed to be sedated to ensure she could give birth properly, so Ben gave the vet permission to use heavier drugs. As Felicia became more aggressive, they first had to get to safety.

Was it worth it?

Ben and his friend were instructed by the vet to slowly leave the stables, but Felicia was not amused. Ben hesitated to leave her after she became even more aggressive than before. Had it all been worth it?

Besides being restless, Felicia also seemed to be in pain. Sedating her sooner rather than later was in her best interests. He walked away more quickly than anticipated. Now the vet could do his job.

The vet prepared the medicines while Ben and his friend were away, and sedated Felicia. After waiting a few minutes for her to fall asleep, he began preparing for the ultrasound procedure. It was a stressful time for Ben and the veterinarian. Did Felicia have a problem?

Another challenge

Due to Felicia's restlessness, performing the ultrasound was not as simple as it seemed. Ben was asked if he could help him stretch her into a good position. Only then could the vet perform the ultrasound.

The vet's tone changed during the ultrasound. Slowly, his optimism turned to pessimism. Ben noticed this but was afraid of distracting the doctor. Later, he regretted not asking her sooner.

The vet told Ben that she had to make an urgent phone call after inspecting the ultrasound for a few minutes. However, Ben did not know who she was going to contact. His horses seemed fine at first, but then he became nervous.

The plan

After the vet returned, she immediately came up with a plan. Ben was assured that his horses were healthy, but Felicia needed some time to rest before she gave birth. Ben agreed to this and went back to his ranch with the vet. Suddenly, he heard a strange sound.

It sounded like the police were approaching Ben's ranch! Where were they going? Why were they there? Initially, Ben was puzzled, but then he realized the vet had called the police. But why did she call the police, Ben remained unclear? But then the vet then explained the situation to Ben.

What shall they do?

It was determined that Ben's horse needed surgery, as something wasn't supposed to be in its belly. To sedate Felicia properly, she needed equipment from the local police, since now she only used a simple sedative.

Ben immediately calmed down after understanding the situation. As soon as the police arrived at his ranch, he let them do their jobs. He could not believe what the police officer told him when he walked up to him.

"Sir, you have to come with us," the police officer said. "We need to ask you some questions," Ben replied. What made them want to question him? There was nothing wrong with him. Since he had nothing to hide, he answered the questions to avoid further misery.

Questioning Ben

Initially, the police asked simple questions. During the interview, Ben had to confirm that he was actually the person being interviewed, as well as that the horse in the stables was his own. However, the next questions went into more detail, which puzzled Ben. What was the point of asking such details?

They asked how his horse became pregnant in the first place. Ben replied that he got in touch with an expert who could help him. Additionally, he said he conducted a background check on the expert to ensure that everything he did was legal. But something was wrong.

Identification

Ben even showed the police his sources to ensure that everything he did was legal. Despite the fact that it was all legal, the police still needed some more information from Ben. Ben was surprised when the policeman pulled something out of his bag.

Potential criminals had different mugshots than the police officer. Upon seeing the photos, Ben was asked to identify anyone. The shock was overwhelming. A familiar face appeared after he saw a lot of photos. The guy he hired was between the pictures that the police were showing Ben. What a surprise! He couldn’t believe his eyes.

The dirty truth

Felicia became pregnant as a result of the expert's face! How could he be a suspect? He did nothing illegal, as far as Ben was concerned. Ben became increasingly concerned. What had this man done to his horse? Does Felicia's inability to give birth properly have something to do with it?

Just a short time later, the police explained what had happened. Despite being an expert on horses, this man had a history of criminal medical activity. He had already been found by the police, who alerted vets since he tested new medical treatments on animals. So what did he exactly do to Felicia?

Strange things

On Felicia's ultrasound, the vet saw two strange things, one of which was a medical chip. Due to their communication, the vet knew he had to call the police when he saw it. The police were searching for that chip, since it was made illegally by the expert that helped Ben.

During the surgery, the police helped the vet remove the chip and trace it back to the expert. Besides removing the chip, they also helped give birth to a new little foal, and it wasn't just a normal foal.

Secondly, the vet noticed that this foal was a rare specimen, which could potentially be worth a lot of money. He was unable to believe his eyes when Felicia gave birth to her foal after the surgery.

The surprise

He had never seen a specimen like this before. The vet told Ben that the chances of this happening were one in a million. While Ben could have made lots of money from this horse, he only had one thing on his mind.

His new foal, whom he named Siempre, was his prized possession. Having gone through all this, he knew he and this horse had a special bond that would last a lifetime. After all, the police were able to find the expert and lock him up. Ben could, therefore, live happily ever after on his ranch with his two horses.
